This is my personal testimony. Please watch this, updates will always be made because of time constraint.
My full name is Ferdinand Vizmanos Cenon.
Born 17th of December 1954, Manila. My late mother ranked from Cavite, my late father with my grandparents ranked from Gapan, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, and Pampanga.
Before my spiritual birth: During 1970s, I was an adventurer and a researcher. And earlier than that, I jumped from religious sect to another and getting hold of rare interesting hard-to-find reading materials. Internet that time was not so popular as now.
Before I entered the Philippine Navy, I was a freelance writer at the National Bookstore, Liwayway Publications, Atlas Publications where I met contemporary Carlos Caparas who wrote "Bakekang" - the GMA7 tv serial, and my mentor Mars Ravelo (now deceased) who created Captain Barbell and Darna in the movies.
I was making money then in publications writing short stories and translating english to tagalog manuscripts coming from other countries and sold in Manila's famed bookstores.
I believed I was the youngest writer in Liwayway Publications. 1st year high school I was interviewed by Gervasio Santiago, Chief Editor and with the Publisher General H.Menzi asked me to perform magical entertainment. Beyond my expectation, I was approved to be a Column Writer to feature magic tricks and other home-made leisure games, puzzles and the like on a weekly basis. I was earning 50 pesos per issue which is already a big amount in those days.
(For some of my major excerpts and printed articles please check
My Profile )
I got married in March 1973 to Meceline (Lenny) from Bicol. When she delivered our first daughter, Dreszy (Commandresz), she had a vision that a white lighted old man talked to her saying,"Tell Ferdinand to write."
She told me about that, then afterwards I got a call from National Bookstore where I met Mrs. Ramos, the now CEO of that place, and I signed contract to write 3 illustrated comics published and printed in english and tagalog then sold in Hawaii and other places. Unfortunately I have only 1 copy of one of the titled comic as a keepsake.
My first job in the government:
Then someone told me that there was a job opening in Philippine Navy. I made myself thru the exams and interview until I was hired and assigned in Naval Procurement Office. When my relatives knew I was in a government office they were angry why I did not take their counsel because they have so-called influence. I shrugged my shoulders and brushed off my feet.
During my early years in the Procurement office, I had terrible experience about graft and corruption when my big bosses liked me to approved requesitions for suppliers without proper documents until I learned there is a corruption going on.
I was offerred big amount of money and in kind which I refused until I decided to tip the proper agency about the inconvenient dealings circulating around.
I was advised later to exit and be assigned in the Office for Civil Relations (OCR). I did and I learned that the former office was revamped due to malpractices inside.
The indiscreet answer toa discreet question: While I was in OCR I have to do some contributions with the Public Relations Office (PRO) where I met Madame
Josie P. Donato who asked me serious questions about, "
Do you know God's name?"
I casually answered, "yes" because I happen to possess 2 rarely published books about Moses called "6th and 7th Books of Moses and the hidden Semiphoras" containing secret holy spells in converting a rod into a serpent, etc.
I did know for a fact that God has so many names, but never realized that
there has to be only One true name. So puzzled and beset with nightmares, got lesser sleeps and uncomfortable thoughts,
I said I want to know more.
Sister Josie set up an appointment for me with her husband
bro. Adonis who was then in Cavite. We met in Pasay where they lived before with their first and only daughter Cheri of the same age as mine.
I took my wife with me and we tried to learn about the
Holy Name of God and more of the
Lord's gospel.
Second birth: It is true, only the Lord will speak thru your heart about Him. Inspite of everything, receiving his grace is more than extraordinary. It is a blessing, it is an anointment.
By God's grace, we were baptized in spirit and in fire on September 08. By the great power of the Holy Spirit, I was writing almost endless manuscripts about the gospel. I had the feeling I have the inspiration of apostle Paul.
The vision came true: I wrote articles and newspaper columns in varied subjects mostly in science, technology, computers, entertainment, and the gospel.
Overseas:
After six (6) years in the navy, I decided to venture in private employments with my compadre,
Rey Grande. I don't know what happened to him but I got my first agency via Chemsult in Makati.
I was asked to practice typing in a manual typewriter. The lights went out in the recruitment agency. Still they were hearing my keyboard clicking at an average of 40 wpm. When the light went on, they looked at the printed paper and saw the content of what I typed. Then the recruiter told me that I was exempted in the typing exam. So I was lined up for interview.
The following day, an american , the project manager from Jubail Property Management in Saudi Arabia asked me if I knew how to create reports. Not knowing anything about actual use of portable computers I simply replied, "yes I do and I can produce any particular reports." I was so confident because I had experience to pass an exam in Naval Computer Center in Sangley, Cavity because of my initial training in Cobol programming.
My two eyes widely opened, althoug I was almost feeling to take a nap because of long waiting in the interview cue, when the american stood up and congratulated me,"Mr. Cenon, I will see you in the project site in about 30 days. So get ready and sign my contract."
My wife was so glad and she accompanied me to the airport. I arrived in the Saudi Arabia safely and in God's favor.
My first day in overseas: I was given Apple IIe computer. I was puzzled because it was the first time. Apple IIe has never arrived in the Philippines so I never had a single moment to know how it worked. But, I prayed and the Lord guided me.
I fumbled thru the operating manual for one whole night. The following morning, I was already familiar using the microcomputer. In the time expected I produced reports faster than my managers realized, thus calling me "speedy Gonzales" referring to an anime cartoon character which run faster than lighting.
When they asked me to create a report in 60 minutes, I delivered it in 45 minutes, but actually it was done in 30 minutes.
In 365 days, I earned prestige and I was upgraded. I was the first filipino to receive extra remuneration. I was also the only filipino who accompanied the Project Manager on site representing the technical requirements of the Royal Commission on Property Management, when I always commented, "yes we can do that." Though unsure, by grace I was able to perform all tasks in time and better quality.
My gospel-related experiences overseas: The Lord's flock grew tremendously, The brethren gathered every weekends in my apartment, we jointly cooked and sometimes I take my off days with them in their barracks. We prayed and exchanged gospel news secretly. We opened Bible lessons and the Lord manifested thru visions to each in our secluded congregation.
It is a must that we filipinos have to teach at least one Saudi national. One moutawa (a religious leader) was assigned to me to be trained in computer. I remembered he's bearded and dressed as a priest.
One saudi afternoon, I saw him with his two palms rubbing both of his temples (both sides of his head). He was in anguish, in pain, frowning for a pounding headache.
Then I told him, if he would allow me to pray to Allah. He nodded and I laid my hands on him in 10 seconds, I asked the Lord to hear my prayer and show the moutawa priest the glory. As I looked down, he opened his eyes and smiled. "The pain is gone. How did you do that?"
Later he tried to convince me, "Be a moutawa. You can be a great religious leader here in Saudi."
I went to other places in Saudi, like in Khobar, Dhahran, Dammam,
Hofuf, Jeddah and in Yanbu for more than half a decade.
I went back to the Philippines
Another place I went to was in Hongkong and in Saipan, CNMI, USA. Separate stories can be found in separate posts.
I have now 6 kids all grown up. Two of them, at the time of this writing are married making me and my wife as grandparents to 4 grandkids.
I had the opportunity to travel overseas and became I.T. Manager receiving awards and recognitions for my exemplary effort.
God always opened new venues of knowledge and wisdom to me most specifically in technology and highlights in the internet, remote communication and wireless administration.
My family and I now reside in one of the treacherous cities in the Philippines, also known as the biggest barangay, Bagong Silang in Caloocan where most criminal elements can be found. Of course, dangerous as it may seem that we were put between the fangs of evil, but I realized there must be reasons to all these.
While listening to famed broadcast radio at GMA7/DZBB I heard a familiar voice and name who happens to be one of my peers during teaching days in colleges. It is Jerry Liao, also an anchor in InfoChat featured in Channel 5 and usually airs technology segments in GMA7 . I sent phone message to him and to the broadcast in charge.
In few weeks I was also invited to guest in the said radio station to talk about latest technology. I was then invited by Net-25 Convergence, another media outfit focused in I.T. for an interview in software development.
Power and responsibilityOne of my favorite comic movies is Spiderman, where I heard a phrase, "With great power, comes great responsibility."
When I received the Lord's Holy Name and my wife and I experienced our Second birth, in Spirit, we grew steadfast with grace and power bestowed by the Lord.
My wife was given a gift of vision, just like Madame/sister Josie, they can see what others cannot.
And I was given the gift of healing, foresight and of power.
The flaming electric cable I was still in Naval Procurement Office when one day an electrical cable connecting our office burst into flame. We hurriedly went outside watching the fire nearing the roof from the cable.
I heard a voice, "step back one time and make the sign of the cross visually in your mind and cast the spell of the holy name." So I did, as I stepped backward I looked into the flames and made the sign of the cross as I utter the Lord's omnipotent Word.
In seconds, the cable instantly snapped and the fire disappeared, literally vanished. When the navy firemen came, the story was finished.
I thanked God for the event. I knew He was just giving me a spiritual workshop.
The mysterious dream : the Letter M We all eat lunch in the office and from then either we do something extra or take a nap in less than an hour before the clock strikes 1pm and continue our work.
I decided to take a nap. It was quick but it was so mysterious. I saw huge waves rising from the sea and a letter M written in the middle of my vision.
When I woke up. It was still clear. So when office resumed, I entertained in my desk one of our suppliers. I shared to him. the next day, he went straight to my office and pulled out a major newspaper with printed news on "Mindanao hit by a tidal wave."
He asked me,"What are you man? How come?" So I shared more to him about the gospel. This same man went back to me and told a storey that while he was sleeping in his car, he saw his body went out of his physical body. He was alive and thought he might die. I asked him to reform himself because he is a gigolo. Never saw him again.
Flaming cable Bro. Paul Candelaria Jr just received the grace from the Lord, the
most sacred Word, we were one day strolling the main streets of Rizal Avenue in Manila along National Bookstore. As we reach CM Recto Avenue, we saw a flaming electric cable attached to one mini shopping mall's building and it was a bit rainy.
I told him, stare at the flame and cable and issue the mark of the Lord. Take a short breath and as you exhale, imagine it to disappear.
It was like workshop, only it was spiritual. Both of us prayed and in few seconds the flame vanished.
People staring at it and possibly thinking some kind of an invisible superhero like an imaginary superman who exhaled a cold breath.
It was actually the Lord's breath who un-flamed it.
A tall glass of milk and 2 beautiful women
To where we are most weak we are always hit by temptation so hard we would never realize that it was more powerful than a lightning that strikes us in a day to day events of our life.
I was then still in OCR, Navy and we headed to a mission in Coast Guard Zambales with
Bro. Oscar Leus (a naval LTSG). A welcoming committee took us immediately to a nightclub.
Everybody is asked for a drink, which usually it would be bottles of beer. The party-in-charge asked 2 gorgeous women seductively dressed to sandwhich me in my seat.
Then the waiter asked for my order.
"Please serve me a tall glass of hot milk and some chips."
All eyes went blob. Then silence came. In few minutes, they resumed laughter and I was given my drink.
I talked to the 2 girls beside me and I said,"Is there another way for you to find a better job?"
That was all and I asked to be excused from my tiring hours of travel and took my night in the visitors' quarter. Yes, alone... after I prayed.
to be continued...
